Social media marketing on Twitter involves posting a steady stream of great content that is relevant to your target audience. There are plenty of ways to generate traffic through your Twitter stream. In addition to aggregating content, here are three different things you may want to consider tweeting to get more traffic out of Twitter.
Tweeting short tips on social media
People love tips. Write very short stand-alone tips that fit just within 110 characters. Follow it up with “Want more tips?” and then add a link to your squeeze page.
On your squeeze page, invite your visitor to enter their email address on an opt-in form so they automatically receive one additional tip per day. That way you can start building a list as people give you their email addresses in order to get more tips. Tweet short tips at least three times each day.
Tweeting blog and video tips on social media
Another way to use tips is to link them to a blog or video. Write a headline followed by a link where your visitors can go to get more information about the topic.
If you have a blog that is five or six months old with a couple hundred of posts on it, you can tweet a tip to each one of those posts. That way you can recycle your old posts and have them continue to make money for you.
Tweeting quotes on social media
People love to read thoughts and quotes. And they love sharing them with their followers through retweets. Thoughts and quotes can be powerful especially if they are pertinent to your audience. If your niche is political, then share some political quotes. If your subject is Apple products, then tweet some quotes from Steve Jobs.
Even if you are doing health and nutrition, you can tweet motivational thoughts and quotes because many people who are reading stuff about health and nutrition would like to be motivated, too.
Thoughts and quotes do not link to anything. But you can use those once to thrice a day so your audience keeps paying attention to you.
